saturdaySUNDAY

Originally my personal blog, I decided to release saturdaySUNDAY into the wilds of the internet as a benefit to anybody that might find it useful. It serves as a place for me to catalog print and web design, as well as write case studies for agencies/individuals I find particularly creative or innovative. It is also an ongoing process in expanding my knowledge of Wordpress and PHP/MySQL.

Janus

For my senior project at Auburn University, I chose to develop the brand image of a band I was currently involved in, Janus (I was the bassist, if you were interested). The identity set out to define the group as heavy metal/hardcore—technically-minded, but organic in nature—without resorting to band cliches such as unreadable logos or bloody skulls. The final result was a combination of cellular biology and planetal orbit lines, meant to highlight the interconnectedness of us all.

Come On, Machine

Come On, Machine is a band I am currently involved in. The central theme the band decided on was the focus on the idea of machine vs. man. I accomplished this using well defined, clean logotype vs. the ethereal, organic atmosphere surrounding it.

CO,M is an ongoing experiment with full-scale social media integration/experimentation; posts from our website are pushed automatically to facebook and twitter, and easter eggs are hidden throughout the various media outlets we publish to, immersing the fan completely into the machine.

mutesky

Mutesky was a student project developed during my tenure at Auburn University. The idea was to create a full identity suite for a (fictional) non-profit. I chose to create mutesky: a music program that provided instruments and lessons to children whose schools couldn't provide school-funded music programs. The identity suite included logo development, business cards, letterheads and envelopes.

The concept behind mutesky was to juxtapose colorful vector imagery, meant to represent music, with stark minimalism, which illustrated a world with no music. The result was a simple, yet elegant, identity.

Scrapetorrent

Scrapetorrent was developed for a torrent aggregate site created by a friend of mine. The logo itself suggests how torrents actually work; a "leecher" (in white) downloads the file from "seeders" (in blue) who already have the file. Once the leecher has downloaded the file, they begin to seed the file to new users and the process begins again.

The original site design has changed somewhat since its inception, but the idea is still there: a torrent search whose primary focus is usability and simplicity.
